THE GARDEN

'The Garden' blends 3D and hand-drawn cel animation to bring to life a playful garden under the veil of night. Bathed in low light and rendered in exquisite black and white, each petal and leaf dances in a delicate choreography, unfolding a tale of enchantment.

A Word from the Artist

Imagining the playful life of a garden when we are not looking. The garden at the back always grows so fast, I was imaging what it would look like if I really looked close up almost like with a microscope or a macro lens. I also got inspired by some Disney classics like Fantasia & Alice in wonderland with dancing flowers. For the style, I looked to some of my old grainy film iso1600 photographs and viewing the frame through glass surfaces at different angles in low light. Also looking at multiple exposures to create an abstract physical space.

About the Music

The sound and music were thought to match the delicate yet intriguing aspects of the visuals. The resulting audio not only elevates the visual experience but also establishes a sensory synergy, enveloping the audience in a captivating fusion of aesthetics and sound. In this piece, sound design takes care of driving the rhythm and movement of the piece, while the music serves as the primary catalyst for evoking a specific mood and emotion.
