WORD FROM THE CHOREOGRAPHER

Dyneema is a multidisciplinary work that offers an experience at the crossroads of contemporary dance, fashion performance, and electronic music. Through this choreography, Maïka invites the audience into a total immersion, where moving bodies, material textures, and images intertwine to tell a story of humanity in both reconstruction and decline.

In a post-apocalyptic universe, where political and climate issues shape a new reality, Dyneema transports us to the heart of an imaginary world leaning toward science fiction. The setting immerses us in an industrial, cold, and tense atmosphere, while the pulsing music, grounded in a sense of urgency, generates an electric and vibrant mood.

Dyneema is the result of a visual, auditory, and kinesthetic exploration, where every vibration is reflected in the dancers’ bodies. Their movements are a metaphor for human resilience—a struggle against inertia, a challenge to collapse. Through repetitive sequences and rhythmic steps, the body becomes a machine, an armor, an embodiment of hope, proving that even in the face of adversity, rebuilding a better world remains possible.
